Ground Water Quality Monitoring Network Funding
March 21, 2019. The James River Water Development District awarded $8,626.50 to the SD DENR Geological Survey Program to replace eight pumps in the Statewide Ground Water Quality Monitoring Network. Of the 144 wells in the Network, 13 are in the James River Water Development District and 8 of those wells have pumps that have failed or are failing. The Network has been in operation since the early 1990s and provides data to be used for long-term and short-term trends in ground water quality.
